Pittsburghese Graphic Tee – How to Talk Like a Pittsburgher

Happy Monday friends This week is about Graphic Tees. I really am not a t-shirt girl, but when I was looking for a Pittsburghese tee for my hubby for Christmas, it made me think of the one I had when I was 19, and then I had to get it, for nostalgia sake. I styled this graphic tee today, and what makes it fantastic is the Pittsburghese, or the way, we, as ‘burgers talk. Outfit Before we get into the Pittsburghese, I’ll tell you about the outfit. This week I am bringing you some casual looks.  I bought the tee at Zazzle.com, it is a small, women’s v-neck and also comes in mens. I wanted to wear Pittsburgh colors black and gold, so I am wearing my gifted Adrian Allen sandals, ( wrote about them here) and my mustard gold Anthropologie cardigan that picks up some of the yellow in the tee. Just because I like my accessories, and am looking for an everyday gold necklace, I chose to wear this turquoise aqua neck scarf instead. I’m wearing Loft light denim BF jeans that I have had for years. They are no longer in stock, but I found a similar style […]

Sunshine Blogger Award

Happy Friday friends! Are you ready for the weekend? I am! I have been at home most of the week, as I had dry needling and it sometimes takes me a few days to recuperate. It is part of the situation I live with, with EDS and that, I have accepted. Today, I am sharing with you a lovely surprise from another blogger, Anna Shirley, of the blog, The GLam Adventure, as she has nominated me with The Sunshine Blogger Award.! 🙂 Remember the song “Walking on Sunshine” in the 90s by Katrina and the Waves. It was as a happy upbeat tune! The thing that strikes me kind of as funny, is when they shot this video, in the UK, there was no sunshine! I suppose we are not to take this idea of “walkin on sunshine” literally, but as something to live by.. having more of a positive attitude in life 🙂 What is the Sunshine Blogger Award, you may ask? “It is an award given by the bloggers to the fellow bloggers who are spreading the positivity and good vibes through their blogs.” That was very thoughtful to me, as I try to be a positive person, […]

Turning Heads Linkup – Spicy Neutral Tones with Soft Surroundings

Hello friends! Look! I am one of the Spice Girls! 😉 I know you saw my neutral look last week, but I couldn’t resist these pieces from Soft Surroundings. When I was contacted, I knew I wanted some spice tones to add to my closet. I love a Safari look as well, wrote about these colors and trends in the post- Spring Trends 2019. Today, I am sharing two looks from Soft Surroundings, pieces that I see me styling throughout the Spring-Summer months. Don’t worry, color will return next week. .. 🙂 My Outfit #1 I was excited to hear that Spicy tones- rust, burnt orange, reds, mustards, and the like, were going to be in stores as part of the Pantone Colors of the Year and as a trend ( on the runway). When I saw this Samar rust-cognac blouse, with tie detail at the sleeve, and tortoise buttons down the front, I was in love! I was envisioning this paired with different jeans, skirts etc for the warmer months. This yard dyed twill blouse is light and airy feeling.  I told you I was loving neutral shades too and having a closet of many colors, I wanted to add […]

Spring Shoes with Jambu – The Lilly

Morning friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I should warn you, as these pictures are PTP ( Prior to Pedicure) 🙂 I did get my pedicure the day we took these later in the day, in prep for more Spring shoe photos. Speaking of Spring shoes and sandals, I am wearing Jambu’s new sandals this season, called the Lillly. Think – comfortable sandals for women! Comfort and style, there’s nothing better! Jambu’s Lilly Jambu has gifted me some sandals for Spring, and you know I am a fan, I walked around all day in NYC in my Naomi’s, which have the same base, as these Lillys. I love comfortable shoes for women that aren’t short on the style too! The Lilly has a rubber all terrain sole, memory foam footbed, are very light, and have velcro to fasten at your ankles. I have skinny ankles so I am thankful for that feature. The criss-cross design is sweet, and it comes in black and taupe. I have collaborated with Jambu for 3 years now and can attest to the comfort of these shoes.:-) Do you have a read on the Athleisure Style and Jambu post I wrote last month, featuring a pair […]

Turning Heads Linkup – Transitional Neutral Look

I told you I was a moto jacket kinda girl. I think this one may be the favorite in my collection, the cognac suede is one of my favorite colors and BLANKNYC jackets are cut just right. I was due for some locational photo shoots and I hope to do more as the weather gets nicer. Today’s neutrals are going to transition into Spring, and this airy chiffon snakeskin skirt can be worn year round. Wearing my sunnies I was gifted last year from Coastal, I was in the mood for some big frames. It can be challenging finding frames for my face as I usually need a small/narrow frame to fit properly. These are fun, and fashionable, and are perfect when I am in the mood for some fashionista-glam style. I was thrilled the flowers were in bloom here, one of our favorite spots, as the area hosts our hangout, Cork and Cask. We often will do a locational photo shoot and go to lunch afterward. Its hubby’s treat for his photographic skills 🙂 Weekend We had a great time listening to my first house concert, near our house in a nearby development. Not one to go out […]

Spring Transition – Double Denim and Denim Jacket Staple /spring-transition-double-denim-and-denim-jacket-staple/ /spring-transition-double-denim-and-denim-jacket-staple/#comments Mon, 11 Mar 2019 05:00:29 +0000 /?p=29336
Spring Transition – Double Denim and Denim Jacket Staple

I do love a pretty silk blouse. This mustard floral with bits of pine green, burgundy, and white feels as light as a feather and a fabric every lady should enjoy in her wardrobe. You can’t beat it. Another staple you want for Spring is a denim jacket. Double Denim Look I’ve search high and low for a denim jacket that was fitted and had stretch, one that fit my style. I came across this Antrhopologie denim jacket on Poshmark for under $75 and was excited to wear it. One of those staples you can wear all Spring and Summer, the denim jacket can be worn with denim, skirts, dresses, you name it. It is that versatile! I’ve paired it with a medium shade of denim skinnies from Old Navy and my cream white booties gifted from Vaneli. The pop of color – in pine green, is from my Rebecca Minkoff quilted bag. Typically, one of the best ways to wear double denim is to mix the shades of denim. Here my jacket is a bit darker than my med wash jeans. You could also pair the jean jacket with white denim, black or colored denim for a more distinct contrast. […]

Spring Trends 2019 – Which Would You Wear? /spring-trends-2019-which-would-you-wear/ /spring-trends-2019-which-would-you-wear/#comments Fri, 08 Mar 2019 06:00:03 +0000 /?p=29350
Spring Trends 2019 – Which Would You Wear?

Happy Friday friends! I always love to hear about what the latest trends are for the year, in Fashion. Some are more wearable than others, but its always fun to see what I may want to incorporate or add to my closet if I choose something trendy.  Let’s look at what some of the major trends are for Spring/Summer 2019, and I’d love to hear from you if you would wear any of them. Spring Shopping Im in the market to revamp my Spring wardrobe, as many of the pieces are old and I’ve got fewer clothes for Spring-Summer than I do Fall-Winter. I’ve got jeans, jean skirts, white and denim jean shorts, and a few skirts. I added a few linen dresses last year into the mix, but need more dresses and cute blouses/tops this year. I’ve been not shopping for 2 months, due to a treadmill I bought for the house, so come April, it’ll be fast and furious! he he! I’m loving the neutrals for summer, the khakis/olives, and hope to incorporate some pieces to mix/match, as well as solid colors or other prints besides florals ( I have enough). Spring Trends Tie Dye- Hello! Jerry Garcia called, and […]

Turning Heads Linkup – Tweed and Suede

Its been one heck of a couple of weeks. It has rained here in Charlotte, for 9 days in a row. Our puddles have puddles. In the front yard, it looks as if we have a pond, and I can hear the frogs croaking at night. You get it!? So, among all of the rain and flooding, it makes it difficult to take blog photos. We made it happen one morning when the rain ceased for a bit. I said to my husband, I heard there was a phenomenon that causes heat and is emitted from the sky. Have you heard of it?? I just can’t help but be sarcastic sometimes, as it has been a while since we have seen the sun here in Huntersville. Or at least it feels that way! The calendar may say March, so there may be hope! Spring Outfits on the Horizon I am looking forward to revamping my Spring wardrobe, as even with living in NC, I have more of a Fall-Winter wardrobe, that I have built over the years. The colors from this year’s Pantone Color Institute has me scanning my favorite websites for the upcoming season. Soon, as the weather warms up […]

Stylish Monday – How We Wear Green

Hello Ladies Today I am joining other fashionable ladies in styling our theme for Stylish Monday. This month, we style Green. I have no shortage of the color in my closet but decided on olive for this particular day. Wearing Green Olive greens and a rich tone called “Brown Granite”  are showing online and in stores as chosen colors from the Pantone Color Insititute. I would be wearing it as I love greens especially with my red hair. I’m part Irish, so it seems to go hand in hand. “The origins of the wearing of green clothing in the U.S. on St. Patrick’s Day and for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in general date back to the 19th century, when waves of Irish immigrants came to America looking for better job opportunities, especially after the Great Famine of the 1840s-50s, and began wearing green and carrying Irish flags along with American flags as a point of pride for their home country.” TIME credit* Why are we attracted to the color green? “Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety” One of my favorite places for serenity and peace is the woods, as I […]

City Beauty Review – “Functional Beauty”

I don’t know about you, but I need a “pick me up” in the Winter. With the grey days and cold weather, it is nice to receive a “goodie box” full of beauty products for me to try. City Beauty, a luxury beauty brand, reached out to me to see if I would try their products. Just the thing I needed! I was quite excited to try the products. Not only that, today is March 1st, so Spring is not far off! City Beauty City Beauty, a luxury brand based in Los Angeles California, “specializes in what we call “functional beauty,” meaning all of our products are designed to not only make you look beautiful while you wear them but to provide deeper benefits.” “The City Beauty line is designed with skin-rejuvenating and collagen-supporting actives such as Hyaluronic Acid, Oligopeptides, Resveratrol, and Vitamin C, just to name a few.” Remember when I visited with Jambu, the Good Housekeeping Institute, and toured their rigorous testing labs? City beauty has won the Good Housekeeping award twice and has been featured on Refinery29, ABC news just to name a few. The products have “anti-aging” benefits, but can certainly be used by any […]
